The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline serves the U.S. and Canada; the hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who—through interpreters—provide assistance in over 170 languages. The hotline offers crisis intervention, information, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. All calls are confidential

Our mission is to protect children and those who serve them.   MinistrySafe was created by legal professionals who are sexual abuse experts. After decades of litigating sexual abuse cases, Gregory Love and Kimberlee Norris founded MinistrySafe to help ministries meet legal standards of care and reduce the risk of sexual abuse by creating preventative measures tailored to fit the needs of churches and ministry programs.

Christian Counseling Ministries of Western NY

We emerged from a growing need in our area for faith-based counseling services from professionally trained counselors.

We firmly believe in integration of scriptural principles with daily living, and that God can use the study of mind and human behavior to heal past wounds and present conflicts. Therefore, we work with pastors and Christian organizations to minister to the Body of Christ.

We are a para-church organization that differs from a private practice in that we are nonprofit, charitable, and tax-exempt ministry.

The mission of Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute, Inc. is to promote the healing and healthy development of children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma or loss to develop, evaluate, and disseminate effective prevention, assessment and treatment methods.

International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation

ISSTD is a well respected international organization that specializes in trauma and dissociative experiences. They provide excellent trainings to therapists all over the world. Their therapist directory is a good place to find a local clinician with special training in trauma.

EMDR International Association

EMDRIA is the international organization for EMDR therapy, a well established and well validated trauma therapy. Their list of providers is a good place to find qualified trauma therapists across the country.

National Child Traumatic Stress Network

National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) was created by Congress in 2000 as part of the Children’s Health Act to raise the standard of care and increase access to services for children and families who experience or witness traumatic events. This unique network of frontline providers, family members, researchers, and national partners is committed to changing the course of children’s lives by improving their care and moving scientific gains quickly into practice across the U.S. The NCTSN is administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and coordinated by the UCLA-Duke University National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS).

Bivona Child Advocacy Center

Bivona Child Advocacy Center in Rochester, New York works on child abuse response, healing and prevention with a model that leverages collaboration between law enforcement, medical personnel, and child protective services.  

New York State Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline

Survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence in NYS can get connected with counseling, legal assistance and crisis help.

Darkness to Light Hotline

Sexual abuse prevention organization Darkness to Light operates a toll-free number for individuals, children or adults, in the U.S. who need local information and resources about sexual abuse.  Individuals can also text ‘LIGHT’ to 741741 for crisis support with a trained counselor, 24/7 and free of charge.
